ABOUT LIT COMEDY
LIT Comedy provides a home for anyone ready to get LIT with laughter. A one-stop shop for all your comedy needs, LIT offers shows and training in all types of comedy. We are so passionate about comedy that we have brought more laughter to Washington DC for over a decade.
Starting as a six-person comedy team, known as Hot & Sweaty in 2010, LIT grew into a producer of regular comedy shows and an inclusive, positive center for comedy training focused on the development of each student and performer.
Our season starts in September and culminates in June with our annual comedy festival, LIT Fest, which has featured up and coming talent who have since gone on to perform on Saturday Night Live and other notable TV shows.

COMEDY FESTIVAL
DC's Best Comedy Festival
Since 2010, LIT Comedy provides the most unique and affordable comedy festival experience every June known as LIT Fest. LIT Fest submissions open in February, and LIT announces its line-up in May. In June audiences can see a variety of talent and types of comedy, and LIT Fest also provides workshops in the various forms of comedy such as stand-up, sketch, improv, musical comedy and more. This year, LIT Fest will be virtual!

Over 400 performers have called LIT Comedy their home. Some of our former players have gone on to shows like Last Comic Standing. LIT holds regular Washington DC Auditions, DC Theater Auditions, including Comedian Auditions and Stand Up Comedy Auditions. Improvisers, writers, actors, stand-ups, storytellers, playwrights, singers all have a home at LIT and have more access to performance opportunities.
